Introduction

1. Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and agreed to be bound by them upon purchasing a 2026 0.5oz Gold Britannia Coin and receiving a scratchcard. 

2. The competition is open to customers who purchase a 2026 0.5oz Gold Britannia Coin during the duration of the competition period. Each qualifying order will include a scratch card giving the customer a chance to win one of five 2025 0.1oz Gold Britannia coins. 

3. This competition will follow Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

4. The competition is non-negotiable and cannot be used in conjunction with any offer.

5. No cash alternative is available. Winning scratchcards must be redeemed by 7th November 2025.

6. Should all five winners be identified before the competition period ends, we reserve the right to end it early and update our information page to confirm this. 

Restrictions 

7. Scratchcards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or refunded.
Lost, damaged, or stolen scratchcards will not be replaced.

8. This competition is restricted to one entry (purchase) per household, and multiple purchases from the same household or use of multiple accounts will not be eligible of receiving additional scratchcards. 

9. The competition is not open to employees of Chard (1964), their families, agents and anyone else connected to them. 

Eligibility to Enter 

10. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom only who are real persons, who are 18 years of age or older and who agree to the terms of the giveaway.  By entering, you are agreeing to those terms. 

11. Customers who purchase a 2026 0.5oz Gold Britannia Coin between 9am on the 15th of September 2025 and the 31st of October 2025 will be eligible to for one scratchcard, which will be sent with their order.  

12. To receive a scratchcard without purchase, please write to: Chard (1964), 32 – 35 Harrowside, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY2 1RJ providing your name, address and a contact telephone number.  

13. By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to participate and can claim the prize should you win one. 

Dates for the competition 

14. The competition will run from 9:00am on 15th of September 2025 and will close at 3pm on the 31st of October 2025. 

15. Chard (1964) Limited will not accept responsibility if contact details provided are incomplete or inaccurate.

16. The five winners will each receive a 2025 0.1oz Gold Britannia coins.

Winner Announcement 

17. There are five winning scratchcards available in the competition. 

18. A winning scratch card will contain a unique code and a confirmation of your win. In order to claim your Britannia prize, you will need to contact Chard (1964), quoting the winning code. 

19. Chard (1964) Limited may ask you to take part in publicity relating to the competition, but you don’t have to agree to this.

Delivery of Giveaway 

20. If you have a winning scratchcard and have verified your win, we can deliver your win in two ways. If the winner is local to our Chard (1964) premises and wishes to collect the coin, they can collect it from our Harrowside showroom.  However, the winner must be able to provide one form of identification upon collection. The second option is for the winner who is not local to Chards. If the winner is not local, they will receive free delivery of the coin. This will be hassle-free and arranged by Chards (1964) Limited. 

Data Protection and Publicity 

21. You consent to any personal information you provide in entering the competition being used by Chard (1964) Limited for the purposes of administering the competition, and for those purposes as defined within our privacy notice. All personal information, including your full name, address, and date of birth, will be collected and used in accordance with Chard's Privacy Policy.

22. The winner agrees to any reasonable request for publicity on our social and public facing channels, this does not include First and Last name, we will not publish anyone's First or Last names publicly. Chard (1964) Limited does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of either participating in the giveaway or being selected for a giveaway, Chard (1964) Limited does not exclude its liability for death or personal injury as a result of its own negligence.

23. Chard (1964) cannot take responsibility for any delay in the delivery of your parcel by our chosen courier. 

General 

24. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Chard (1964) Limited may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude entrants from participating in the

25. Chard (1964) Limited reserves the right to cancel the competition if in an unlikely scenario that:There is a legal or regulatory reason.  
Or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.  

26. The competition  and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
